'we
both really valued how you were able to infuse your instruction with a lot of personal experience, first hand/second hand
- whatever. This really gave us a good insight into contexts, real scenarios and the 'realities' of being in
the outdoors with kiddies, adults, groups, rescue teams etc etc. That was as invaluable as the First Aid training itself'
'We
could definitely sense that your teaching was supported by a wealth of admirable experience - but it was also very 'kind'
and in no way patronising or overwhelming. I definitely feel inspired to deepen my own knowledge and awareness of emergency
care' Raw Advenures
'an entertaining and enthusiastic trainer, with an awesome breadth
of knowledge and experience'

FIRST
AID COURSES
'a well structured First Aid course. The tutor made the course interesting, fun
but most of all relevant to the outdoors; fantastic instruction'
“The course was thorough and realistic as it is delivered by a mountaineer who is also
a member of a Mountain Rescue team – I am sure there are others offering First Aid courses such as this but very few
that can give this direct experience of some of the wild, daft and frightening things that happen on a mountain. The theory
and practical were nicely placed and there was plenty of time for questions and answers. The best thing of all was that it
followed a logical progression rather than follow a deadpan script. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.”
Barry Lynn; Climb a Mountain

'It might sound a bit masochistic to say this but I wanted to say
how much I enjoyed and valued my ML assessment process last week. On reflection, I can say this now......now that
i've dried out I particularly valued the sense of comradeship and support that you encouraged and the opportunity
I had to have some refresher training with Steve last Autumn. A reassuring phrase I often use with my therapy clients is that "I'm your side, not on your back!", this is how the whole assessment process felt for me and
this mirrors your declared holistic approach.
Whenever I receive criticism I far prefer it to be coming from
a platform of relationship, rather than elitist one-upmanship that usually comes with over inflated egos.
i just want to say that after 20 years of thinking about doing my ML, I'm glad that i've finally done it and
chose to do it with you!' Geoff Britton (ML Assessment) February 2012
'I wanted to say a huge thanks to you both for the week I spent in Snowdonia, to Steve
for his training, he made me feel comfortable right from the start (and I was very nervous before arrived). His style of training
is relaxed yet precise, I learnt what I need to know and what I need to research myself, and not a lot of scary stuff that
would be inappropriate in most events ie 101 different knots.' Vicky Hilling Teaching Assistant (ML Training) October
2011
'Helen and Steve, Really, really many thanks for a testing, enjoyable and rewarding week last week.
I had been putting off my ML for years and you made me pass. Thank you ever so much, now you have given me the bug again Richard Baker (ML Assessment) April 2012
Programme and Delivery MTW Moderation of ML Training 'Steve’s delivery was clear and concise and the session was delivered to
